During the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 News and Magazines apps on Android in Bulgaria exhibited varied performance trends in terms of weekly downloads and active users, according to Sensor Tower data. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared:

Opera News: breaking & local experienced a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 404 downloads in late December 2022 and dropping to around 222 by the end of March 2023. The app’s weekly active users also saw a slight decrease, from about 2.8K at the beginning of the quarter to 2.5K by the end.

Way2News Daily News App showed a different trend with its weekly downloads increasing significantly from 322 in late December 2022 to a peak of 490 in early March 2023. Meanwhile, the app maintained a steady rise in weekly active users, growing from around 3.1K at the start of the quarter to approximately 4.4K by the end.

Twitter Lite had a stable performance in terms of weekly downloads, fluctuating between 146 and 279 throughout the quarter. Its weekly active users remained relatively constant, hovering around the 225 mark, with a slight peak of 281 in early February.

Hindi News by Dainik Bhaskar saw modest weekly download numbers, starting at 157 and ending at 124 by the end of March. However, the app experienced consistent growth in weekly active users, climbing from 218 at the beginning of the quarter to 702 by the end.

Lastly, Breaking News: Local & Alerts showed a downward trend in weekly downloads, decreasing from 158 in late December to 93 by the end of March. The app's weekly active users also saw a decline, from 2.1K to 1.7K over the same period.
